Hampshire Junior Mega-finals

Hampshire Junior Mega-finals.
This years mega-finals saw around 160 entrants contesting the various age group competitions. All the Basingstoke players without exception did well. Daniel Shek currently tours many congress's and even plays abroad in some. He did not get 100% but still managed to pick up the Supremo first place prize at under 's. Daniel Yu did what Daniel Yu does best and munched his way through the opposition and picked up the supremo prize at under 10's.
J...ames Love has been attending the Basingstoke Junior Chess events over the past month and had a remarkable competition at under 11's picking up the under 11 supremo.
A number of others were playing in their first congress and all played to a good standard. At under 10 Bryan Vaz managed a good third place with 4 out of 6. Daniel Dewdney scored 3 1/2 out of 6 at under 9's and his sister Hannah picked up a prize in the ultra-tough under 12/13 section. Edison Brown (under 7), Yasmin Phillips (under11), Evan Shulyak (under8) and Hayden Baldock (under10) all played much good chess.
