British Chess Championship

Basingstoke Chess Club President John Shaddick finished equal first of two at the Under 140 section of the British Championship.  John won his first three games and drew the fourth In the last round he played the only 100% player in the section (56 players) Richard Ursall of Highcliffe; and playing with white pieces secured a win.
This meant a share of the first prize with Malcolm Roberts from Holmes Chapel.
