Annual Club Presentation Evening.
The event took place on Wednesday 20th June 2018
A good attendance of 27 turned up and were present during the Presentation of Awards. An enjoyable evening in good company with plenty of food and drink available.
The awards were presented by Mr.John French the nephew of the late Joe French.
AWARD WINNERS:
Joe French Cup (Basingstoke Individual Championship)
Winner : Ivan Stipcevic runner-up Liam Blanc
Henshaw Trophy (players graded under 120)
Winner Mo Negargar runner-up Almeo Bontigao
* Trophy presented to Aheng and Jay Negargar as Mo is away on business.
Basingstoke League - Alekhine Cup
Winners: Basing
* Cup presented to Adam Matthews.
Basingstoke Junior Individual Championship: Robin Higgs Trophy
Winner: Yasmin Phillips
* Yasmin becomes the first girl player to win the Championship of Basingstoke.
During the evening a 'lightning' tournament was held:
